Our irrigation plan is important to making our permaculture project more sustainable. By combining rainwater collection, ponds (including the swimming pond), swales, and overflow systems, we’ve designed an efficient setup to maximize water use and support our land. Go check the full plan on our project page.

Update May 2025: The need of a tractor was so big that we had to invest in one already. With some of our own savings and some borrowed money we bought a second hand reliable Kubota mini tractor. In the coming years we are trying to repay this tractor with different kinds of income or donations.
A tractor is essential for our permaculture project to handle heavy tasks like moving compost, wood chips, gravel, horse manure or big stones. We life on a 2.4 hectare of land on a slope, so doing it by hand would take weeks… While our goats help with grazing, they cannot maintain the entire property, so we need one with a mower deck. With a tractor, we can save time and energy, allowing us to focus on other important things.

Update 26 January: Thank you all for the donations. You are the sweetest! 🌻🙏 The seeds are ordered and we can’t wait to start sowing. We will keep you updated when anything starts to grow 🌱📸
The time has come… our seeds are running out and sowing season is starting soon. We are planning to buy as much seeds as we can, but surprisingly the seeds are very expensive now. Especially if you want them all to be organic.
Every 5 euro that will be donated will help us buy 1 or 2 bags of seeds. Our goal is €500 and that will keep us busy for the coming years. This year we will focus more on seed-saving from our own garden. And thanks to your previous donations we were able to plant more than 300 trees! 🙏 We believe we can make it possible together with some help from the ones who can miss a few euros.
Most of the seeds will be herbs because they need to develop over the years, like lavender, rosemary and thyme. Common seeds that we also want to buy are beans, tomatoes, cucumber, kale, carrots, peppers, but also special things like cucamelon, leafy goosefoot and quinoa.

Update: we are very happy to announce that in summer 2022 we finished the compost toilet thanks to your donations! Curious what we’ve done? Go check out our completed donation campaign.

Update: we are very happy to announce that with the help of Jos and Kwekerij Vechtwijck we found the perfect polytunnel and we can’t wait to set it up. In our YouTube video’s you can see the process of building.
The polytunnel is going to be an important aspect of our farm, here we can grow salad greens throughout the winter to provide us with healthy food when the days are shorter. We can also grow warmth-loving plants in our tunnel like peppers, tomato, eggplant and many more. We even want to experiment with growing ginger! The tunnel will also be a place where we can start growing seedlings early in the season to give our crops a little head start before planting them outside. The tunnel is also an excellent spot to use as a nursery for the trees we want to plant in our orchards and fruit forests.

In July 2022, we hosted a fantastic fundraiser event at Wicked Grounds to kickstart our permaculture project. Thanks to the incredible support of so many generous people, we raised an amazing total of €2,000! This milestone marked the beginning of our journey toward creating a sustainable and inspiring place, and we couldn’t have done it without the peoples enthusiasm and belief in our vision.
