At our farm in Normandy, France, we’re creating a space where nature, community, and creativity come together. With our permaculture-inspired gardens, food forest and hands-on workshops, we share the joy of living sustainably and knowing exactly where our food comes from. Our non-profit based project is more than just a farm–it’s a place of inspiration, freedom, and connection. Whether you’re here to learn, create, or simply enjoy the beauty of the land, it’s a refuge for living closer to nature and embracing a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle.
What is permaculture?
Permaculture or restoration agriculture is a type of agriculture that creates an abundance of food within a living ecosystem by mimicking natural systems. By improving the biodiversity and enhancing the soil with fresh compost. The system is constantly improving and becoming more complex. Permaculture is based on a set of ethics and principles. Why is this important?
The current agriculture system is based on a finite resource (mainly oil) and therefore not sustainable. By tilling the soil, using chemicals and harvesting all the crops at once the soil gets worse with each harvest. Scientific research has shown that the soils of conventional agriculture will be completely degraded within a few generations. Permaculture offers a solution to this problem. The fruits and veggies grown on a permaculture farm are also higher in nutrients and are free from chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Read our article about permaculture as a solution.

The irrigation plan
Our irrigation plan is important to making our permaculture project more sustainable. By combining rainwater collection, ponds (including a swimming pond), swales, and overflow systems, we’ve designed an efficient setup to maximize water use and support our land.
Finding a mini tractor
A tractor is essential for our project to handle heavy tasks like moving compost, horse manure or big stones. We life on a 2.4 hectare of land on a slope, so doing it by hand would take weeks. While our goats graze, they can’t manage the entire property, so a mower deck is a must. A tractor saves time and energy, letting us focus on other priorities.
The first accomodations
To bring more life to the project we want people to come over and experience the life we are living. To accommodate these like-minded guests we want to create a tent camp where you can sleep in the middle of a food forest. How cool is that!
